STYLEWIZE is a fashion face mask company located in Bangkok, Thailand. Our story began in 2017, when our founder Jim Schumacher, an American from Arkansas, first began designing air masks after a trip to Asia. Since then, STYLEWIZE has strived to make the best face masks in the world.
STYLEWIZE has since grown its own production facility in Thailand, along with a dedicated team of professionals. All our masks are handmade, and our team makes sure every detail is cared for and quality is never compromised.
Our story by Jim, founder of STYLEWIZE:
Hi, I’m Jim Schumacher, founder of the STYLESEAL line of personal air protection products. Thanks for letting me tell you a little about our story of why and how I started the company. On my first trip to Asia in the early 2000s, I was intrigued by seeing some people on the street in Hong Kong wearing surgical masks. Having lived my entire life in the USA, I had never seen anyone wearing a surgical mask anywhere other inside a medical office. However, having spent most of my life in Arkansas, definitely not an urban setting, I also wasn’t used to seeing so many people in such proximity. I asked a few questions and was told pneumonia in Hong Kong could occasionally be a problem at times, so wearing a mask sounded smart to me.
I didn’t think about it much again until I was back in Hong Kong in 2003 which by chance was the start of the SARS outbreak. People started dying at an alarming rate and the public and I were really scared.
The friend I was travelling with had a bit of a cough but not SARS. When he would cough on the plane during our domestic flights in China people were nearly diving under their seats in fear. That is when I found it even more interesting that, even though now there was death involved, only a few percent more people were wearing a mask.
That got me thinking, “Why don’t more people wear masks and why aren’t I wearing a mask? Common sense says, shouldn’t everyone under these circumstances?”
After a bit of thought I concluded that more people didn’t wear masks because either:
• The hazards in the air are invisible so out of sight out of mind
• Many people don’t want to look sick or funny wearing a surgical mask or respirator
• They aren’t readily available. (This was twenty years before Covid-19. Little did I know about what was coming.)
As a businessman I thought all these reasons could be overcome, so I set off on a mission to see if they could be fixed.
After an extensive design process and working with professionals in the field the STYLESEAL Mask was made. There was a lot to learn, and we are still learning today.
We designed our STYLESEAL masks to be as visually appealing so you can feel proud wearing them while comfortable at the same time.
I learned through personal testing of many of the surgical masks, respirators, and other products on the market that their seal is inferior, making it is impossible for them to function properly. We designed all our STYLESEAL masks with the best seal on the market.
I learned that many of the quality masks on the market were expensive. We are committed to make our masks affordable and eco-friendly, so we designed them with high quality replaceable filters, greatly reducing the cost while creating a lower burden on the environment for many reasons.
Our goal is to educate the public on the invisible hazards of pollution and other dangerous airborne contaminants. We are committed to help people realize the hazards they face and offer them the knowledge and affordable products to combat them.
Through building a team of dealers committed to clean air we hope to make sure people all over the world can have ready access to attractive, efficient, and affordable personal air protection.
Our masks
We design our masks to be stylish and fashionable, so you can feel comfortable wearing them in public. We like to call them air filter masks because they are designed to filter the bad things in the air you breathe.
Many reusable masks on the market are expensive. We are committed to making ours affordable, so we have designed them with replaceable filters, which are far more environmentally friendly than disposable surgical masks and respirators.
